Home Our Programs

The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become competent and capable learners. The curriculum should encourage children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident inquisitive learners.

We aim to give the children time to learn at their own pace. We encourage the development of good habits and attitudes, particularly a positive sense of self, which will make a difference throughout children’s lives.

Daily Programs and the Programming Process. The programming process ensures that the activities provided for the children are appropriate and meet the developmental needs of individuals and the different age groups.

At the centre we have implemented a new style of programming called the emergent curriculum. This style of programming encourages the teachers to guide rather than instruct the children. The curriculum is based on children, teachers and parents interests. It encourages children to explore and investigate their environment and the journey is ever changing. The room environment is set in a way that supports the children to explore, learn, collaborate, reflect and communicate.

The children’s routines are incorporated into the program (eating, toileting, sleeping, dressing) and staff are responsible for planning experiences which foster skills and maintain the individuality of each child’s routine.

Our curriculum and programming covers all areas of development:

Sharing with friends, to take turns and consider the needs and feelings of others. To develop a sense of confidence about his/her own abilities and approach new activities in a positive manner and feel secure in a set routine.

To help children experience pride and self-confidence within them selves, develop independence, self-control and positive attitudes through staff providing appropriate and meaningful experiences.

To help children become confident learners through achieving success, to help them acquire learning skills such as problem solving, questioning, observations, and language proficiency.

To help children develop their large and small muscle skills, mastering co-ordination, developing strength and flexibility.
